Hey there

Currently considering the DCI Black AppleMacbook (the cheaper model offered through Cavalier Computers). I can't see where I'm allegedly saving money, as an identical machine through apple.com seems to run me about $1350. Does UVa's $450 surcharge only cover the long walk from the bookstore to McCormick or Alderman for dorm room delivery? Or have I just compared the two models improperly? Techies to my aid!

well - the one at DCI comes with an extended warranty. From what I've heard, the popular consensus seems to believe that it is way overpriced and not worth it. Personally, I'm getting my macbook pro from apple.com with the 10% discount. And that rocks!!!

From Apple, you also get a free ipod touch or nano and a free printer. You do have to pay upfront, and get the money back once you fill in the rebate form.

You can also buy the applecare (warrantee) for your ordinateur for around $180 with the student discount. I have no clue as to the rest of the price difference. Apple.com with the education discount is the way to go.
