Less than 60 credits..?

Hello, i am a California Community college student trying to transfer to UC's and Chapman and Portland University BUT i don't think i will be passing my current math class so i may have to drop it with a "W".Will colleges still accept me if im transferring under 60 credits for Fall 2012? Any one running into/has run into the same problem? Please help!

Is it 60 required? Some schools don’t need 60.

I hear the UC’s are pretty strict on the 60 credit requirement, but I don’t know personally.

I would get in contact with someone at the UC system immediately.

As with pretty much all UC-related transfer questions, it depends almost entirely on the individual campus. Unfortunately, they are mostly very strict with units if you’re a transfer. UC Berkeley, for example, states a very definite, no-excuses, 60-unit minimum before your application will even be considered. That being said, the UCapply website has information on how to qualify as a lower-division transfer:
