I have submitted my application with a credit total less than the minimum requirement. The reason is that I decided to not return to my current university for the Spring 2019 semester due to athletic reasons. I will be attending a community college during that time, but haven’t officially registered to any courses yet, which is why I didn’t meet the 60 credit requirement. I included this explanation in my application, but I wanted to ask where/when I would update my planned classes? During the academic update in 5 weeks? Or should I email each campus notifying them of the courses? And finally, even though I will be taking more than 60 credits, will not having the minimum requirement from the start hurt my application?
You only need to have accumulated the 60 units by the end of next spring, not when you submit the application. If you meet this rule you are fine. If you do not you are not eligible for UC xfer admission as a junior.
ok, so they won’t discard my application if before I do the academic update there are only 52 credits listed?
Well, I don’t know. You should have added planned courses for spring. It says to do that. If you put nothing in it looks like you will no longer be attending any college. You might want to email them with 8 units of courses for spring. That’s what I would do.
Thanks for the reply,
I couldn’t have listed planned courses though since I need to be in California in order to register at the community college?
You’re right, I will email them. Should I do that to each separate campus or to the UC email?
Thanks again
You can enroll online now at a CCC, which you should do. Then email the UC and say you’re adding 8 units from ___ in spring. I think at this early stage you only have to do that. They will tell you if you need to do more.
