Less than perfect, wannabe Yalie!!!!

Hi everyone!!!

I just have a little question concerning my GPA. At the end of this year, my junior, I will have a 3.7 uw GPA, I know it is kind of low for Yale, but I was wondering if the fact that I take really hard classes, will graduate with about 10 or 11 AP's, will make up for it? Also I will be in the top 5%. So what do you guys things? Thanks a bunch!

it won't kill your chances if your ecs and essays and recs are stellar.

contrary to popular belief, you don't have to perfect to get into Yale. That said, haosquared is right and you need a great complete application, which means good ecs etc, to get in. But it's not just you, even people with 4.0 averages do too. Good luck next year.

Don't worry about your GPA, Yale cannot let you down just because your GPA.
Do well on your SATs and APs, those are the things can make you stand out.

There's a guy here who had a 3.6 and got a likely letter!!

So, no worries. :-)

what makes a good EC?

something you care about enough to dedicate yourself to.

I love your enthusiasm for Yale , understandable. I'm similarly psyched. Like literally a close friend of mine got in early, and when he called and told me i dropped the phone screaming and ran around our home a number of times. it was crazy. I cant even imagine getting in myself.
