Let me come out first and say that I have a similar thread in the Univ Florida section. Dont think I'm a troll or anything, I just want personal insight on colleges I'm considering Fall 2012, since I live in GA and wont be able to find time to visit these colleges. So back to my point: Tell me how awesome Penn St is! I'm also considering Ohio St, so If u wanna trash them in the process that's fine with me lol.

Well, I don’t go to Penn State but I’ve visited and it’s pretty amazing. I’m not really interested because it’s in the middle of nowhere. Like it’s completely abandoned, but it’s a beautiful campus. It’s a huge campus and it’s like a small city and there’s so many people. Classes are lecture hall style because they have over 33,000 undergrads but all of my friends that go there absolutely LOVE it. i don’t think i’ve ever heard of anyone not liking PSU.

Yeah i would like to hear from Penn state students as well. What exactly makes the school great? It’s one of my top choices

Few corrections to the above post-

Although Penn State may be in the middle of nowhere, there are a TON of things to do here! 100’s of clubs and organizations, state college has a lot of places to entertain the students, programs and speakers visit PSU all the time. I’m really never bored.

Most classes are not lecture hall style. Many of the intro classes are (gen chem, organic chem, biology etc) but once you get to your upper level classes and many of the smaller departments have classes with less than 40 students in them. I know several professors personally (have eaten dinner at a few of their houses). You don’t have to be a # if you don’t want to.

I love Penn State because it can be anything you want it to. You can do the party scene if you are into that or you can do things at Late Night at the HUB. There are the many awesome clubs and organizations as well as Greek Life. The spirit at Penn State is great and I haven’t even gone to any football games. Everyone is really friendly and there is a ton to do. And yes, as your classes become more specialized, they will get smaller.

bump bump bump
