Let’s get ready for college football! 🏈

Who do I wish would win - probably Stetson Bennett - even though one could argue he doesn’t belong on stage.

Who will win? We already know - Caleb Williams - because every year they poll the voters in advance and every year it’s spot on - because - well it’s the voters.

I’m just glad it’s not going to be another Oklahoma QB. hehe

Nothing against Boomer Sooner

Although Caleb started there so could have been. That’s a sore spot for Oklahoma!

@tsbna44 Stetson has a great story (wonder if he’ll be the inspiration for an underdog movie one day?) and has become a very good (not Heisman quality though) QB with a great team behind him. But even though he plays for my team and I love his story, I’m one who doesn’t think he should be a finalist. And am disappointed it is only recognizing QBs.

I think it will be Caleb Williams.

It’s typically mostly QBs - and I just like that Stetson is 25, a former walk on, etc. but I know he doesn’t belong.

Even though it seems based on Heisman voter polling that Caleb Williams is going to be the runaway winner, it doesn’t seem as if there’s a dominant player like in the past.

Whoever it is - they’ll be in the Heisman House and make a lot of money from Nissan. Since Bryce Young is already there - and in the funny Dr. Pepper commercial, time to invite someone else.

What happened when the Texas Aggie moved to Oklahoma? The average IQ of both states went up.

Sidenote here, but though I get the joke, and ran simple numbers in my head to demonstrate to myself that it works --I put all 10s except for a 3 on one side, 1’s on the other, saw that both would go up if you moved the 3–but it still makes my head start smoking trying to understand that both averages can go up. Ran it by H who said there is a named paradox for that phenomenon (so I’m not just being solo-ly weird trying to figure it out) and had to do with the actual number of items on each side changing.

Anyway, this has been a side visit into the world of Garland’s brain.

Oh I’m glad you got to go watch the game and your daughter! We were in the front row at the 10 yard line so we had the cheerleaders and dancers right in front of us the whole time -made it even more fun.

Michael Pratt is from our town and went to high school with my D and her BFF (whose mom I was with.) When we got on the field we headed over to the area that was roped off for players/family/press. We thought we might be able to get a picture of him and send it to her S23 who is friends with him. As we stood at the rope the security guard looked down and said - you have pink bands, you can go in. We didn’t stop to think we just went in - then after a second realized our pink bands were from The Boot earlier in the day. We did manage to find Pratt to say hi and get a selfie which our kids thought was embarrassing and funny.

I really want to go to Dallas but don’t think we will make it. I do have hotel rooms on hold just in case we change our minds though!

I was taught to use extremes to understand a problem. So if you have an average IQ in Oklahoma of 10 and an average IQ of 150 in Texas (ha!), and the Texas Aggie has an IQ of 100 (being generous), if she moves to OK, it’s obvious that the average will go up in both states.

Yeah I hadn’t encountered the concept before, so I just made up simple numbers (10,1,3) and it worked. Still counter my intuitive, though

~7 hours until I will unleash my inner ten-year old. When it comes to Michigan football, for me it is all heart and no head.

Wearing my new Wolverines hoodie I got for Christmas–I’m ready! Go Blue!!!

I’m cheering for my Big Ten brethren Wolverines and Buckeyes today. Make this Badger proud!

As usual, I’ll be a contrarian and root for the Horned Frogs, though I don’t have a lot of skin in the game other than hometown pride.

Wearing my 1977-ish Michigan sweatshirt (with the original maize seal, not that neon Nike yellow atrocity), “M” earrings, and new class ring DH gifted me early for my BD. I’m perfectly prepared for bad ref calls (they’re always against Michigan, right?) and plenty of “football” words coming out of DH’s mouth as he stays on an open three-way call with his equally-fanatic brother and best friend throughout the game. Really not sure why I put myself through this stress, but here goes…

Glad the ND season ended with a win…hopefully it means there will be a bit less complaining from H and S during the off-season.

Good luck to teams playing in the championship.
