let's be realistic...

i feel ya celebrian!

yeh celebrian u have a point.....

see, my issue is...my parents planned ahead (like the smart little parents they are) and then ended up spending all that money on this boarding school. So i guess it's time for me to get a job of my own.

hmm but what job will get u like 40k a year ???

im just thankful.. to god.. to my parents... that i'm privileged enough to even THINK about going to college..

do u realize guys... how lucky we are.. and how PRIVELEGED we are?

... we... who are dying to go to columbia... MOST of the world's population worry bout getting a decent meal.. having clean water....

we.... on the other hand.. are stressing about getting into a top institution..

wow... when u step back like that.. and look at the whole bigger picture.. doesnt that put things into perspective a lot??

now isnt THAT being REALISTIC?

The infinite wisdom of Chris :)

:) aww kiki!!! hello there.. back from school?
lol guess what im doing..
yes im being an insane idiot and not going to bed..

columbias giving me the sh1ts.. cant sleep. got a stomach ache.. feel sick.. wanna puke.. freaking out and stressing out.
got a french oral tomorrow morn.. ahh ill fail..
mauybe ill speak bout columbia?

but um... yes... bigger picture.. gotta keep that in mind...

indeed. or we can think about a very close person to me who got into 3 or 4 top universities, yet couldn't go there because of gasp money.

yet somehow he still found himself at the college he did go to...

now doesn't that seem happy that he could do that at a normal college, and deal with it all there, when he DID get in?

what i didnt understand a thing u said just there sam..

??
huhh?????

"now doesn't that seem happy that he could do that at a normal college, and deal with it all there, when he DID get in?"

I perfecftly agree with you....it's "knowing" that You have the capacity to get in that's rewarding. With that kind of feeling in a person, that person will feel good through-out whichever college.

lol, that's because i am rambling. I tend to do that. It makes people fall asleep lol.

I was just saying how he got into like, Brown, Harvard, Yale, Columbia...yet couldn't go to any of them because of $$...and how that would be worse than getting rejected. At least I think so.

but he's happy.
so there..

I didn't say it was impossible...and you shouldn't try to understand a situation you're not in. I have a sister in college, my parents are divorcing, and I can't make more than $6,000 working. Which isn't a lot off of $40k. And my point was, making 40k is considered the line between poor and middle class when it comes to colleges.

Maybe you shouldn't make assumptions celebrian....I have siblings as well both paying $17,000 in tuition. My parents are divorcing and now we have two mortgages. Yet, you don't see me wallowing in self-pity. Stop with your pretentious ********.

I'm not. See it as you will. :p I'm too happy to worry about what a stranger thinks of me. I'm sure your life is rough too, everyone's is. And I never said yours wasn't.

Yes...we are very luckey people!!!

My life isn't rough, I feel incredibly blessed. I'd prefer an apology to trying to make it out like you're taking the high road.

You don't deserve an apology. :p

Who are you ? Who am I ? From Where did I come ? Who is my mother, who is
my father ? -- enquire thus and you will, then realise that the entire
world of experience, all the worries and problems are but a dream, a
mere hallucination, born of imagination and delusion. With such a
realisation, you will be freed from the delusions of the world.
