The other thread is sort of big and hard to ind stuff in, so this is a place to QQ about the test because I'm predicting that I'll start bawling after seeing my scores.

lol same. I feel like I’ve disappointed my whole family

^ me after I see my score :D

:((

What are you guys going for? I want 2300, but know I missed the last free response in math, and 4 in reading already… it isn’t looking good

I am hoping to get at least a 600. Man I really hope I can get 200 in CR, 200 in Writing and 200 in Math!

I want 2250+. I am wondering though. If I got 2 800s, one in CR and one in W, but a 700 in M (I know I can do better), do you think it is worth it and advisable to retake? 2300 is a stellar score, but 700 is not amazing. Any input?

If you know you can do better, as in without studying, then go for it. There is nothing to lose. Even if you decide against it, 2300 is a stellar score, and it would be the college’s loss for holding a 700 against you. Word is that anything above 2250 (or 34 ACT) is a good score for top schools. Anything above 2200 (or 33 ACT) is almost required in order for the scores not to count against you.

I will trade you my 1620 for your 2300 anyday

@NCgirl2015 If youre still a junior, you can study hard for the sat/act and get a high score. I started out with a 1770 in 9th grade and am now looking forward to a 2300 (will be sorta bummed if I get anything lower than 2250, but that’s besides the point. You really just gotta study for one the test alone, and I can assure you that you can get past the magical 2000 mark. Past that, you know everything already, and it is just a matter of perfecting the harder concepts. I can help you if you have any problems. My current stats are 2090, and 33 ACT, but the 2090 was a year ago (idk if that adds any authority to my statements…lol)

Sadly I am a senior and the October SAT was my last chance. Not feeling too great about it.

Nah, you probably did fine on it. We all just stress out about stuff to much. My friend got into UCSD with an 1800. And he is doing a research program with graduates and a professor. What can we draw from that? He made better use of his university’s resources than many of those people who go to even ivy leagues. Likewise, for you, it’s honestly what you make of the place you go to, and the SAT shouldn’t be something to feel bad about anyway. It is a garbage test, and the same applies for the ACT, but at least the ACT is geared more towards what you actually learn in school.

I’m a senior also. I wanted at least a 2200 and also feel as if I fell a little short. If necessary, I am going to retake them for the third time in December, even though that would mean having to apply regular decision to better schools. I didn’t study at all for the first two testings, and I feel as if I kind of failed miserably. I skipped about two to three questions in both CR and M, and skipped one in W.

What did you get previously? And yeah, I have heard of literally nobody doing well on the sat without studying, so if you pull anything above 2100 that will be amazing for no-study.
