This forum is often filled with ainxt (which it should be), so I have one question:
Who is your favorite artist/genre in general?
Who is your favorite artist/genre for studying?
Who is your favorite artist/genre for working out?
1- EMINEM- Why be a king, when you can be a god?
2- Rap- I’m talking about the poetic type because it sends me into the zone, not the one with twerking
3- Eminem/Dubstep- Eminem has powerful lyrics, some dubstep like Terminite (I think he i considered dubstep) is fire.
Leave it as general or specific as you want, you can add your own situations too (i.e favorite for showering).
80s music is my fave and 90s is my guilty pleasure. There’s also a local screamo band called She the Killer that’s pretty good. (Katy Lyles, your poor vocal chords!)
Am I the only one that can not study/read with music on? I usually just start singing along with the artist and can’t concentrate on what I have to do. My favorite genre would have to be hip-hop/rap.
Soundtracks- I can never study to anything with lyrics because I get distracted and start singing. Inception and Sherlock are my favorites for homework.
Muse or Bastille. It either has to be really angry or calming… Idk why tho
@awesomepolyglot my bad, I meant anxiety. Interesting taste in music I must say…
@AcceptableName only if it is a song that I’m feeling at that moment (are you feelin’ it now Mr. Krabs?!?!) usually happens with intense Eminem or TechN9ne for me tho
@SoCcErTrAcK2016 Sometimes I’ll type in “study” on soundcloud and listen to that, but rap has just the same effect on me, like you put it, really angry or really calming.
Oh Wonder, STRFKR, Odesza (hence the profile picture). I love electronic music.
I can’t concentrate on studying while listening to music, but if I’m doing busy work, I’ll listen to electronic or Romantic music (Chopin, Liszt, etc.).
I listen to Chopin too @photogeek8 ! I usually listen to nocturne 23 (from Karate kid) but he has some other pretty good pieces, I am more of a vivaldi guy
@neonerudite I am indian, so I listen to indian music sometimes if it is meaningful. Otherwise, my international taste is limited to spanish music (mainly juanes) and some turkish music (ceza the rapper).
Who is your favorite artist/genre in general?
I can’t pick a genre haha, I listen to some rock/alternative stuff and folky-er sort of pop music, as well as pop/rock musicals
Right now I’m kinda obsessed with Lukas Graham but his music isn’t really what I typically listen to.
Who is your favorite artist/genre for studying?
Ok so this doesn’t count as music, but whenever I’m taking notes for AP Euro I listen to this documentary on youtube called “Inside Britain’s Highest Security Psychiatric Hospital”….I guess the voices in the background just help me concentrate as a sort of white noise? The british accents definitely don’t hurt.
Who is your favorite artist/genre for working out?
Rob Thomas/Matchbox 20 comes to mind, anything in the genres above that’s upbeat is good too. At least it would be if I could figure out how to run with earbuds without them annoying me the entire time lol
