Let's think of ideas for new AP courses.

AP Sports History

I played around with the idea of AP Philosophy in my head for quite a bit.

I’ve always said AP Philosophy should be a class. The FRQs could be so amazing and bizzarre, but IDK how they would be graded. So they’d probably have to be really boring regurgitation-of-facts applited to the case at hand like AP Psychology.

But my Philosophy teacher and I toyed with the idea of the same question for all FR sections of the test ever: Who are you?

AP Everything…the most rigorous AP course where you learn all of the other courses in one class and how they all intertwine with one another. The exam would of course be 36 hours long…

AP chess (position analysis, endgame, openings, famous chess players, mating strategies)
AP trivia (just a fun class)
AP lunch
AP fantasy/series studies (e.g. Harry Potter and understanding conventions of magic)
AP author study (study author through books and some kind of biography)
AP english language and linguistics (grammar, spelling, punctuation, and word definitions)
AP music history(compare art history, talks about eras in history: baroque and Mozartetc)
AP mythology (greek/roman, Egyptian etc. and books that mention them e.g. Illiad)
AP bible/koran/torah studies or world religions (for religious people)
AP “subset of world history”
AP ____ history (e.g. dance history)
AP sports
AP creative writing
AP gym
AP sleep
lots of other great ideas

some people argue AP Earth Science, that’s already AP Environmental, there’s not many topics to cover in ES that’s not in EnS
same with AP anthroplogy, there AP human geography
AP writing is comparable to language and composition but one is fiction and other non-fic
AP astronomy, astronomy isn’t a deep enough science–we’ve only gone as far as the moon–to be a course on its own

AP Philosophy. Sort of like College Board’s version of the IB’s Theory of Knowledge class (TOK)

AP Food Science, Sports History, Business, Web Design, and Photography sound pretty good

AP Algorithmic Studies
AP Advanced Calculus Studies
AP Applied Mathematics
AP Computational Mathematics
AP African Studies
AP Muslim World Studies
AP Oriental Asia Studies
AP Accelerated Geometry/Trigonometry Studies
AP Study of Life
AP British Literature
AP Study of the Americas - North (Canada and Mexico)
AP Study of the Americas- Central/Caribbean
AP Study of the Americas- South
AP Organic Chemistry
AP Engineering Essentials

AP Neurobiology/Neuroscience
AP Defense Against the Dark Arts

the exam for the 1st one would be a regurgitation of facts.

for AP defense against the dark arts, you must slay 3 death eaters/2 basilisks, and 5 spiders. you have to find them lawl

I think we should see some type of AP Military strategy/History. A complete class that was encompassed around military tactics and focuses solely on specific wars and battles. I am sure this class would reach that 10k requirement in a heartbeat. Even though the classes may be 98% male it still would have been the funnest and most interesting AP I would have ever taken.

Social Studies;

 • Sociology
 • Political Science
 • Communications
 • Marketing & Accounting
 • Anthropology & Area Studies (Asia, Americas, Africa)

Sciences

 • Astronomy
 • Anatomy & Medicine
 • First Aid and Forensics
 • Atmospheric Sciences
 • Engineering (eg Electrical)

College Board will never have any Religion (and probably mythology) courses due to federal laws for public schools.
Peace Studies is constantly changing.
Music is impossible to test and gague. Same with web design and fashion.
Linguistics is waay to broad.

sleeping and relaxing AP

I say that AP should replace all high school classes, the easier ones offered to freshman and sophomores and the harder ones to juniors and seniors. That would open up the possiblity of tons more AP classes and leave the idiots behind (go die in a hole Bush), plus it would get rid of the stupid weighted GPA and people could take more higher level classes sooner in college.

How about performing arts APs? AP Piano Performance, AP Strings, Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion, etc. Or theatre, though I’ve heard there’s one for that in development.

that’s not a bad idea but the system requires work and will take a while to implement

AP Monegasque History

Ap theology

AP Middle East History would be cool

AP O Chem

AP Computer Science (except with C++ instead of Java)

In my country, there is infamously one university which has Footballing (Soccer) Finance. So, AP Soccer Finance.

I’d very much appreciate AP Sleep.

Other useful classes:

AP Texting in Class
AP Passing Notes
AP Lunch Hall Diplomacy
AP Identifying Edible Items in School Food
AP Cramming
