Letter from admissions today

ARGGHHH!!! There was a letter from BW Office of Admissions today. I texted my son at school to see if he wanted me to open it. Immediate response from him “YUP!!!” It turned out to be a survey about the campus visit and a thank you for visiting the campus recently.

We are waiting on pins and needles to hear about the audition. What a letdown to see what it actually was. One of the questions on the survey was does he think he will apply to BW!!!

On the bright side—it wasn’t a rejection!!

From our experience last year, you will receive tons of mail from admissions departments for all the colleges, so try not to read too much into any envelope you get! I KNOW it's nerve wracking!
Specific to B-W, my D was accepted out of last year's fall audition. She found out in early December online (which apparently they had tried to fix so that kids wouldn't find out that way, but it didn't work and she had a message that said something like "Congratulations on your acceptance to the conservatory"), but then received a large envelope in the mail around mid-December. The letters did go out earlier the year before. I know that last year, we were told they were mailing the letters on the last day of their fall semester. I think they did not want to deal with acceptances/rejections questions and phone calls while fall semester was still in session. We had heard from a friend who was a freshman MT at the time (now a sophomore) that they had chosen 4 out of the fall auditions within a week of those auditions, but he did not know WHICH 4, so we were all on pins and needles until she read it online about a month later! Good luck to your son!

My D also found out the same way as NYdance's D. Both our D's are at the same school now..but I can tell you that my D was very impressed with the head of the Mt program and it was a very very difficult decision. We too were on pins and needles until the decision. but I will say that Bw's came a little earlier than all the others and when it came it was very personal, wonderful, and worth the wait. Good luck to your son. I think that school has a great department and he will be very lucky if they choose him. My D decided at the time that she wanted to have a schedule that included more academics but at the moment she is tied down with trying to do both Mt classes and acadmeics and can see a great benefit to doing conservatory only course work. Good luck..the season is a rollarcoaster ride of emotions!!!Freshman year has been about the same trying to get cast.... emotional!!

Oh yes! I got TONS and TONS of mail from them! Even a CD for christmas, hehe!
