Just a heads up…I’m thinking this might be happening to others. DD completed her FAFSA a couple of weeks ago for next year. Last week, she got a snail mail letter from the IRS basically stating that the DRT was used by someone filing a FAFSA in her name. It was an FYI letter, with a notation to reply IF she had not done this herself.
I’m guessing the IRS is sending these because if the breach last year.

We got the letter and it was a scary feeling receiving anything from IRS until you opened it!
Yes…that’s why I started this thread. My DD was a bit nervous getting a letter from the IRS! Guessing that anyone using the DRT will be receiving this letter.
