Letter from Penn Officer?

The person who wrote me a supplementary rec on my volunteer work recently received a letter from the regional admissions officer to further elaborate on my duties. The letter even mentioned me as "a very strong candidate". Is this typical checking up on extracurriculars or something to cause me to become worried/concerned/encouraged?

I apologize if this is obviously nothing out of the ordinary. Thank you and I appreciate any comments.

Don't worry about it. They don't generally verify applications, but once you submit your application, the ball is in their hands. You need to trust them with that. Every application gets reviewed thoroughly. Ever application gets the time it deserves. They are free to do whatever they want to give you a fair assessment, which means even calling counselors and other people to find out more about you or verify. I wouldn't worry about this, but I would also take the "a very strong candidate" phrase with a grain of salt. After all, Penn has their own agenda, and anything can happen.
