So I plan on applying to a private university and it just so happens my junior high principal (also a very small private school) graduated from the university. I would like to believe I was a good student and am thinking of having my junior high principal write me a letter of rec. Would it help at all?

Probably not a good idea. As a student, you most likely have changed significantly from the time you were in junior year. Colleges want recs that reflect how you are, relatively recently. Unless you interact with your junior high principal on a recent basis (perhaps helping out at the school, etc.), I don’t think it would help at all.

Well I plan on giving her a “brag sheet” which is a 20 page packet that contains my grades, extra-curriculars, senior course, AP scores, achievements etc. Also, my mother happens to work at the school and my sister currently attends. I usually make it out to my sisters basketball/track&field events and have attended the schools September festival multiple times.

Forgot to add I am in the process of being a recruited athlete so my belief is every little thing will help, since coaches actually have a say in admissions at said school.
