Letter of Rec

I'm probably way to paranoid about this...
Well I was going to ask my physics teacher to write me letters of rec for engineering summer internships. I was in his class last semester and received one of the highest grades out of ~150. I am taking him again for another class this semester. Today we had our first test, and I think I will end up getting a C, which is still pretty high for his classes since he mostly averages at 40s. I'm not going to give any excuses for my low grade, but I know what I need to change in my studying habits to get an A in his course.
Now I feel nervous asking him to write me a recommendation because of this test. Should I find another prof (who won't know me as well) to write a letter of recommendation or should I stick with my physics teacher?

I don't know you, your prof, or your entire situation, but from what you said above, I would go with this prof. Don't sacrifice the opportunity. Just work hard and try and get a good grade.

Getting someone you know is much better than a superficial letter from someone who barely knows you.

I think you should stick with your physics professor. It looks like you might have some sort of an established relationship so he would be able to write you a good letter of recommendation.

I have heard that some committee members prefer to read a positive letter from a professor even if the candidate got a B in that course; rather than a generic letter stating the student got an A.
