Letter of Recs

Hi guys,
I'm looking for help regarding the LoR's for Michigan. I already have 2, but for Michigan it says you may have up to 4. Is it beneficial to have more, and if so, do they need to be from the core class teachers? I will be applying as a pre-admit to Ross and would like one from my DECA/Business teacher. Thanks!

They only require one, so two should be fine. Don’t send any more unless the individuals writing the letters can say something that the others didn’t. It really does little good to have four people say that you’re a highly-motivated, creative individual.

It will not hurt you but it will not benefit you in any way is what the admissions office told me.

I would agree with besjbo. After a certain point, the recommendations have diminishing returns and could hurt if they are less than stellar.

Would it be good for Ross to have a business related LoR?

Bump  10c

Any final advice? My SAT is 2260 and I do have business EC’s (like qualifying for nationals in DECA for two separate events), I don’t think I’ll have a problem getting in to Michigan, but should I get another rec letter for Ross?

If you have a business-related recc source and you’re confident they’ll say something captivating, I think it would be useful to submit. You want to stand out in your specific area of discipline, as well as overall performance and character.
