Letters from a college?

I've recently visited a few colleges and at one of them I filled out a sheet of paper with my GPA, SAT scores, extra curriculars, name, intended, address, etc before taking a tour of the school and going to an info session. I've gotten a bit of mail from them since then with "Good Luck, Rach!" specially written on them (it's a rather small school with around 2,500 students) and information about each of the majors that I put on the list

Should I think of this as a good sign that they'd want me specifically to apply next year? Or do most smaller schools do this for pretty much everyone?

My friend was also with me and filled out the sheet as well (she actually has similar scholarly stats but very different extracurriculars) and she hasn't been recieving any material from the school or specialized majors information

no that's only the brochure or extra information the colleges give to you since you give them your information as a sign that you are interested in them.

Ooh OK that's what I thought but my mom keeps saying that it may mean something...I agree with you though, thanks for your help!
