Letters of acceptance/rejection

My daughter just auditioned at Pace on 2/4/12 for MT and Acting. I know that the longer we wait for a letter, the better her chances. I have also read in previous year’s blogs about “e-mails” and “phone call interviews”. Is Pace still in the habit of using these or is a “snail-mail” letter what we should still be looking for?

My d auditioned on Sunday, and we have not heard anything yet, either via snail or email, if that makes you feel better. I was also told the same thing; the longer you hear nothing the better it is; if you read past threads on here it looks like they send out rejection letters rather quickly; though they are in LA this weekend for Unified so maybe they are waiting until after. I just know we are both anticipating and dreading every bit of email we get from Pace, which is a lot as she was academically accepted. We see “Pace” as the Subject and both go “You open it.” No, YOU open it,lol.

My D just auditioned today in L.A. and they told us that it would be “by” March 15 and that Amy Rogers would call you personally if you are accepted. They also said it takes a few days to make all the phone calls, so I’m figuring they’ll start a few days before the 15th.

Tracyvp - So did I! I’m glad to find that out. Do you happen to know who auditioned us today by the way?

Last year my son auditioned on a Saturday and Amy Rogers called him on the following Wednesday (during school… good thing his phone was on silent!). He did not audition at unifieds though, which may slow down the process. We heard of several instances like this but many closer to the March 15 date.

Jennifer, it was Amy Rogers whom you sang for. Wasn’t she GREAT?

Well no phone calls here buys no rejection letters or emails either. My daughter did add that she would be willing to be part of Commercial Dance, as dance is where she has had her most training and is probably her strength, so we shall see what happens:)

I just got accepted a few days ago (big scholarship too, yay!), and yes, they sent me a letter.

MissWitch – is your letter the artistic admission to MT (or whatever you auditioned for) or the academic acceptance to Pace University itself? I remember for my d (last year) Pace, like many other schools, does the academic and artistic admissions differently, and the lovely scholarship offer did come in the academic admission package. For artistic admission decision, she had to wait until spring. Just curious if they are making their artistic decisions so much sooner this year.

Rejection letters should start being sent out within the next two weeks. Acceptances won’t be mailed out until March 15!

I got a letter from “academic” pace today dated February 1st that talks about me turning in my application & thanks for applying to pace & specifically says “if we have received all of the support documents needed for your application package, you will be notified of our admission decision within two weeks.”. I applied in the beginning of December 20th.

Is this a bad thing then if only rejection letters are supposedly coming out in two weeks?? Has anyone else received this letter? I just had my mt audition this weekend, not that that has anything to do with academic pace’s decision…

tracyvp - YES, she was amazing! It seemed like all of her students adore her as well. And Rhonda Miller was super great too! :)

If you auditioned for both MT & acting & are rejected from your top but accepted to your 2nd choice, will pace send you a rejection letter for your top sometime soon & then an acceptance letter for your 2nd choice closer to march 15?

I got my academic acceptance letter today in Arizona! I got $15000 for the honors scholarship & $2500 for the opportunity scholarship!!! Now I just have to wait for the audition results…

My daughter got an email from Rhonda Miller, accepting her to the Theater/Commercial Dance program. She is very happy!!! She would have liked MT but her strength is dance, and this major offers her that, vocal, and acting. We are breathing a sigh of relief that she finally has a positive answer!! I am sure everyone will be hearing soon!

Lulusmom2, did Rhonda say specifically that the admission to the BFA CD was in lieu of the BFA MT? If not, it could still be that she will be admitted to for the BFA MT. I believe that with the exception of one or two very talented boys, those phone calls won’t be made until after the next round of auditions this weekend.

for anyone that’s interested i auditioned for both MT and commercial dance and got a commercial dance email this morning as well as an MT phone call.

Congratulations! I guess they’ve made more than one or 2 MT phone calls, then!

She didn’t get an MT email or phonecall, only the email from Rhonda Miller. Which she is perfectly happy with at this point. I am not even going to mention the possibility of her possibly still being considered for MT; if it happens it happens, but judging by the last poster. If they made MT calls today, she prob just got CD. She’s happy and no longer a nervous wreck and neither am I so if it happens it’s icing on the cake :)

Congrats to lulusmom2 & omgyayay!! Do you mind me asking when your daughter (lm) & you (omg) auditioned?
