I just got my financial aid package today (in Arizona). It was dated February 25th

I have to be brutally honest, here. Calling the administration at Pace is very much like dealing with the DMV. Every time I call I get someone who just doesn’t seem to care or to know what’s going on. Called again this morning and explained to the gal that D never received an admission packet despite having called to request it TWICE before, but that we received her scholarship award letter and multiple mailings regarding “accepted students” events. Is there some way we can just get her login id information?

Her first line of defense was to ask me to verify our mailing address. Really? I JUST TOLD YOU that we have received a TON of admitted student specific mail. You have the right address. Then she said they would send it again. I JUST TOLD YOU this has been done TWICE already. We just want her login ID. Oh…she’ll transfer me to an admission counselor. Which she did, but that counselor was not available and her voicemail box was full. “Goodbye.”

Yes, I know Pace has an AMAZING Performing Arts department and I know my kid will get spectacular training. In fact it’s her hands-down favorite and she’s completely over the moon to go there. But to be honest, I’m not so sure I want to pay this much money to send her somewhere that the rest of the school appears to be run by complete imbeciles!

tracyvp: How about calling Amy Rogers office and explaining the situation, and asking who the MT Department’s contact is in Admissions. Perhaps having the department get involved might be helpful? I’m sure they want their admitted students to get what they need from the Admissions office.

And I’ve had the opposite experience. Every conversation with Pace in each department has been great. My d got her financial aid package yesterday in the mail; we were worried because we couldn’t get the stupid IRS data retrieval tool to work but Pace said it was fine and her package was already done. All my emails have been answered promptly and forwarded when necessary. I guess it’s a matter of luck; maybe we keep talking to someone different, Tracy. I hope it all works out for you… I am sure it will.

Tracy, I’ve directed most of my questions to Pat Woodard and she would forward me in the right direction, if that helps you at all. And Rhonda Miller stressed in her email to my d to stay on top of all the admission stuff, to check and double check. Maybe that’s why lol… In any case, my d is attending and we will pray there aren’t any kinks along the way! She’s doing the April preview weekend and we are staying the whole weekend up there so I can show her how to do the subway, etc. and get her familiar with the city more than she is. It would be nice to meet some parents that weekend from here!

Hey guys! I just recieved a letter accepting me to the Dyson College of the Arts and Sciences at PACE. Does that mean I am accepted into musical theater and/or acting (As those are the only two majors I applied/auditioned for)? Or is it possible to be accepted to Dyson without being accepted to a program within it?

Has anyone gotten a call from 212-346-1035? I missed a call from them earlier today, they left no voicemail. I just tried to call back but no answer, just a machine saying “thank you for calling Pace University’s call center. If you would like to be taken off our list, please leave your name & number” but there isn’t a voicemail box to even leave a message

tracyvp - I had someone from admissions talk us through setting up my son’s login. You have to go to the Current Students link. If you haven’t been able get your D’s login ID you can look it up here (yes, the academic admissions letter does give you the login ID). Under Quick Links choose White Pages, then input your daughters name on the search screen and choose Applicant as the “Person Type” and then search. The result will give you your user ID which is also your D’s Pace email address. Once you have the login ID go back to the current students main page and on the left side in the login area choose new user and that will take you to the link to set up password, etc.

geofio - my son received a call from the same number around 5:45 (CA time) today. It was a student calling from the admissions office to talk about Pace and answer any general questions about the university.

Okay thank you!

@MTSD322: THANK YOU! I had actually tried doing that earlier but I think I had selected “Students Only” so her name didn’t come up. So now it’s all set up. Thanks again!

I still haven’t heard anything for theater… Have they sent out all the rejection letters & only have the waitlisted letters left?

That’s what I’m wondering. :(

Nope, everything will be mailed by March 15. Unless, they have an incomplete application… in which case they won’t hear anything (acceptance/ rejection/ wait list) until their application is complete.

BRbway: okay thanks. Do you know how many will be waitlisted? & does March 15th only refer to the BFA MT letters or BFA acting, commercial dance, & BA Theater Arts-Acting Concentration as well?

has anyone who autitioned on Sunday February 26th heard anything yet?

Geofio, our waitlist is not grouped together as one big pool, but rather per person. So, if one person does not accept their spot, we have 1 or 5 people in “in line” behind them, but if that person does take their spot than we discard that wait list. Make sense?

I know we’ve had nearly double the applicants as usual this year, so the letter sending process is taking much longer. I’m pretty sure the theatre admissions office is trying to get ALL performing arts letters out by this week.

Thanks, BRbway. This waiting to hear is agonizing. So, the letters they are trying to get out this week are: acceptance, rejection and waitlist? My S got early acceptance and a great financial aid package. I was hoping that not hearing by now would mean a better chance of acceptance. Is that not the case?

All MT acceptances have been made through phone calls. The letter will contain BFA MT rejections and wait list status!

D received her acceptance letter into the BA Acting program this morning. She is thrilled!
