Between all the friends, FB pages and CC I’ve only counted about 15 acceptances so far. (And some of them could be the same people). Granted, there are probably plenty of folks who aren’t in those circles, but those still waiting, don’t give up hope!

Do you know how many they usually accept? I heard 30 to yield to 20?

That’s what I heard also. Maybe BRbway will weigh in and let us know the scoop.

Congrats to all who have been accepted so far!

For those of you who received MT phone calls, about what time of the day (California time) did you receive the call?

Well, it’s 20 to 30 in the program, but don’t MT programs usually accept up to around 75 people, since not everyone accepted ends up attending the school? At least that’s what I’ve heard from other schools, like Emerson.

Congrats to you tracyvp, by the way! :)

This year we are accepting 40, to yield around 28. Most phone calls have been made… although Amy hasn’t actually spoken to everyone yet (voicemails). We are also waiting on the paper work of a few students to be processed by the University, because, as I mentioned previously, they have to be accepted academically first.

Students that are on the wait list will be notified within the next 2 weeks via letter!

@brbway… have all the calls been made for the CD program also?

Brbway: Thanks for sharing all of your valuable information!

It’s my pleasure to settle all these anxiety inducing concerns! I remember the waiting as if it were yesterday.

I have NO IDEA where the commercial dance acceptance process stands.

So it appears all the calls for MT and T have been made? Congratulations to all who got in.

If they have all been made, I’m hoping I don’t get a rejection letter & am at least waitlisted…

Has Pace made their decisions for the Acting program as of yet? It seems some have heard but not all. This is the only college out of 8 my D applied to that we have yet to hear from.

For those still waiting to hear anything, yes or no, I would follow the advice above and watch for mail/calls over the next two weeks. For what it’s worth, our son withdrew his audition request simply to reduce his list of schools in early February. Plus the only date he could audition would be the day after his school show closed, meaning auditioning on a couple hours sleep. Anyway, we then received a letter congratulating us on our son being academically accepted, he received an invite to the preview weekend, and he just today received an excellent financial aid package. All this and he never actually received an academic acceptance letter. So sometimes it appears there are kinks in the communication. I would say if you’re in doubt on where you stand in a couple weeks, make a call directly to the admissions department who most likely will know the MT or CD decision by then. I will say with all of our dealings with Pace in phone conversations or emails, they were very courteous and helpful.

Haha! abparent, that was our experience almost exactly! Our D never did receive an academic acceptance letter, even though we called the admissions office TWICE to ask. Both times they said they would send another one. It never did arrive.

She did receive her scholarship letter, although we are still waiting for the actual financial aid package to arrive. It does seem the administration, department and financial aid office do not work together hand-in-glove!

Can someone who actually did receive an academic acceptance letter tell me if the letter tells you how to set up your Pace Portal? (i.e. what is your username?)

There is a letter included in the academic admissions packet that provides a username and instructions for how to log on to pay tuition and housing deposits.

Thanks so much, MTTwinsinCA! I guess we’ll be making yet another call to admissions!! Maybe the 3rd time will be the charm!

I will admit the worst part about Pace is dealing with all the separate University issues. The actual theatre department is its own beautiful, working entity, but the admissions/ financial aid/ office of student assistance can be very frustrating with their lack of coherency.
