Letters of Reccomendation

If I ask my teachers this summer (im a junior), when are they supposed to mail them? Can they just give it to me (sealed and stamped at the back) so I mail them as one package?

Most high schools have policies on when and how this is handled - if you don’t know - check with your guidance counselor. That being said, some teachers do prefer to get requests before the end of the school year, so they can do them over the summer. Some do not - and tell you to gve it to them when school resumes in the fall. Generally, you are giving them the stamped envelope addressed to the college and they mail it. Some high schools use the common app. form - some do narrative letters - some have their own form. So, you really have to check with your school as to their procedure. Finally, more and more colleges want these things by fax or online - as opposed to snail mail. Check the college website and then check to see what your high school is willing to do.

To they have to write one for each college? Cant they just use one copy? and If im applying to 20 different schools, that means theyll be doing 20 copies online/envelopes?
