I haven't found a place where it says to turn in letters of recommendation and I'm a little apprehensive about that considering normally that's something colleges ask for. Did I miss something (I feel like I did...) or is it not part of the application to turn in letters of recommendation?

Letters of rec aren’t required or even necessary for most students. My uncle is a professor so I submitted one just for the heck of it, I don’t think really any of my friends submitted letters of recs. In the end it’s not going to hurt though. It isn’t part of the application to turn in letters of recommendations but if you want to you can mail them to:

Freshman Admissions Processing
Texas A&M University
PO Box 30014
College Station, TX 77842-3014

If yours are anything like mine after a few weeks you’ll get something on your AIS under the documents that says Letter of Recommendation and the date received.

Good luck

Letters aren’t required but I can’t see how they can hurt, especially if you are applying for admission into one of the more competitive majors. My daughter had three letters sent in. Should you decide to have letters done and mailed to the above address, make sure that the stamped & addressed envelope that you provide (out of courtesy) has your UIN (Universal Identification Number) written on the envelope. We wrote “Re: UIN xxxx” at the top of the return address space.

Also, you might print the document found at http://admissions.tamu.edu/forms/Doc_ID_Sheets.pdf . Fill it out and give it to your letter writer as insurance that the recommendation gets properly matched to the application.
