I vaguely remember my interviewers for a bunch of colleges asking that I let them know if I was accepted/waitlisted/rejected.
Should I follow up even if I was rejected? Or accepted but not considering the school? What are your thoughts on this?

You don’t need to contact people from schools that didn’t accept you nor those that you’re not considering attending if you don’t want to.
I know almost all my interviewers expressed sincere interest in my post secondary educational plans and asked that I shoot them an email over my decision and where I would actually end up. I’ll send them all an email as a form of courtesy for taking the time to interview me and to satisfy their curiosity over where I’ll be ending up at. At the end of the day, though, it’s up to you and you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to.
Yeah I am completely fine with telling them, for some reason I thought they might find it annoying haha
I they asked I would. Think of it this way, it expands the knowledge base and they get an idea of who their school did and did not accept. For the rejections and not goings I would have a form letter almost
Apart from the aforementioned reasons, another reason to send them an email is that they will be curious to know.
Think about it. If you, as an interviewer spend an hour with a person and then write a long recommendation for him/her, you would definitely want to know whether it was fruitful.
Ofcourse, your interviewers may be busy and may just ignore the mail. But they definitely won’t be annoyed. I feel that telling the result to an interviewer is a form of courtesy that must be displayed irrespective of whether the interviewer explicitly asked for it or not.
P.S: In case the interviewer told you NOT to send the result, then that’s a different matter.
I’ve been accepted to 2 schools that required interviews so far and both were very pleased to hear the results. So I would definitely tell them!
What I find strange is that the interviewers asked you to inform them. My school’s interviewers are given the results and are subsequently asked to follow up on admitted students to gauge likelihood of attending/offering congratulations.
I will not be contacting all of my interviewers (only 3 of them) because they were not very memorable to be honest.
All of my interviewers said the school would tell them whether or not I was accepted.
@T26E4 All my interviewers did say that the school informs them of the decisions, however, they find out after we do. Out of all the schools I have been accepted to, none of my interviewers have followed up - which I thought was weird too.
I think I’ll email my interviewers after April 1st, when all the decisions are out.
@FigLeaves Interviewers are informed 4-5 days after students find out. Just so they don’t spill the beans.
