How lgbt-friendly is Quinnipiac? IS Quinnipiac lgbt-friendly? (I wish I could find this through Google, but unfortunately the search results all seem to be about politics surveys done by the polling machine.)

Hi I’m a current sophomore at QU and my best friend at school is a gay guy. He loves the school and has tons of friends and is active with the theater program. Though you will hear a lot about QU not being a diverse campus most of the students get along fine. I’m not positive if there is a lgbt club or organization at QU but the student center is super friendly and approachable so if there isn’t its really easy to start your own club. I wouldn’t call QU the most lgbt friendly school in the US but I certainly wouldn’t say it is the least.

Okay- thanks for letting me know!

VERY gay friendly: at least 1/3 of guys are gay, and many kids “experiment” to be cool. Its kind of weird. Also, Greek life is full of gays, amazingly. There are many groups of friends which include both straight and gays, tho there is some tension between such cliques. QU is pretty much a school where you go if you know you want to be OT/PT/AT, or you’re gay and don’t wanna be so NYU about it.

DonnyB’s comment was completely untrue. He is a Quinnipiac hater who enjoys slandering the school. Ultimately, there are very few gays and lesbians at QU. However, incoming gays and lesbians would fit in fine as long as they carried themselves with class and dignity. As long as they do not walk around in drag and participate in public displays of perversion they will be accepted by their peers.
