Vanderbilt is one of my top choices at the moment (I really love the vibe of Nashville and appreciate that there’s more to life than just academics), but I wanted to know, what is life really like for gay students at Vanderbilt? Being able to be myself and have the choice to date at some point is pretty important to me, but overall I don’t want to be treated badly or discriminated against for being gay. Are people at Vanderbilt generally pretty accepting? Do LGBT students fit in the social scene at Vandy?
Absolutely! As a freshman here, I can say that Vandy students (at least the ones I hang around) are pretty accepting of all sexual orientations. It’s definitely a part of the culture here and I wouldn’t worry about it at all… there’s a ton of support and love on campus for LGBT students. one example-- Lambda is a really popular org here and they put on a drag show last night that was really widely attended!
Was gonna ask the same question! Are there lots of queer students at Vandy? Specifically queer girls (I’m les)
