Liberal arts college for biology major

I want to attend a respected LAC with a good biology and if applicable pre-med. I live in CA so i now have a list of LAC that i would like to visit within CA, but I really want a list of LAC with good bio outside CA, preferably on the East Coast.

CA list
Pomona
Claremont McKenna
Pitzer
Occidental
UC Berkley,LA,SD,Irvine(not LAC lol)

Also, can i consider Reed College(a good one, though not well-known) a safe college according to my grades?

FYI
ACT 33 GPA(weighted) 4.5
300 hours of volunteering, which includes 150 in library and 100 in hospital
Nationalist for Chemistry Olympiad

I live in Connecticut and am also planning to major in biology. Some good selections on the east coast are:
1.) Wake Forest University
2.) Lafayette College
3.) University of Richmond
4.) University of Connecticut
5.) Villanova University
6.) Dickinson College
7.) Elon University
Hope that helps!

Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. It’s not on the East Coast, but is an excellent LAC with strong biological sciences. (It is one of the Colleges That Change Lives, if that matters.)

Davidson College in Davidson, NC. Another excellent LAC.

Franklin & Marshall

Amherst, Hamilton, Colgate, Bates, Bucknell, Franklin & Marshall, Muhlenberg, Williams, Bowdoin, Davidson, Colby, Holy Cross. You are academically qualified for all of these colleges. Though they are similar in some ways, their academic and other aspects vary. Some have very low acceptance rates. Others are less competitive.

(“The Experts’ Choice: Colleges with Great Pre-med Programs.”)

Holy Cross in Massachusetts has strong pre-med program and a Jan15th application due date. HC has great campus and meets 100% of demonstrated financial need.

All good suggestions. Although Vassar is known more for its Social Sciences and Arts, it actually has as many Bio grads as most of those previously mentioned, and it is just completing a $125-million construction/renovation of its science facilities. Also, I know you were looking east coast, but up in Washington, Whitman has a great bio department that is twice as large as almost all of the others mentioned above.

Remove McKenna.
I second Dickinson (EA possible), Vassar, Muhlenberg, Colby, Davidson. Various levels of selectivity.
Not on the East Coast, but I’d add Grinnell, Carleton, and St Olaf.

Conn College also strong in sciences. Holy Cross has a good track record of sending kids to medical school as does Muhlenberg and you will likely get merit $ at Muhlenberg. I 2nd Carleton as a non east coast LAC very strong in bio. And as other posters mentioned - Bates

Wesleyan has a fifth year Masters degree which is very popular. Oh, did I mention that it was free?

Reed College is quite well known.
