I have applied to several Liberal Arts Colleges and I was wondering which ones of these schools have a better pre-med programs or academic, etc with a better med school acceptance rates?

All of these schools have great academics and med school acceptance rates. Williams, Amherst, and Swarthmore are probably slightly, just slightly, ahead of the others, but all of these schools are really quite comparable. Anyone who says otherwise is probably nitpicking. All of these schools will offer, what I think, a superior undergraduate experience compared to Harvard. Harvard is what it is because of its graduate schools. Your chances of getting into med school are just as good if you attend any of these LACs.

Also, please, please keep in mind that many times, a high med school acceptance rate is correlation, and NOT causation. These schools have high med school acceptance rates because the students themselves are strong applicants. It’s not necessarily true that these schools (or Ivy League schools) offer better advising (but these selective schools probably do anyway), but that the students are stronger. Place the student bodies of these schools at, say, Rutgers, and I bet almost the same % get into medical school.

Therefore, don’t use the % accepted into med school as an indicator of the pre-med advising, but as an indicator of the strength of the student body - it is NOT an indicator of how likely you will get in. Yes, advising will vary between schools, but there won’t be a discernable difference between the ones you listed. Also note that most of these schools don’t have pre-med “programs” - you major in whatever you want, and a pre-med advisor makes sure you’re taking the classes you need and taking the MCAT when you need to, etc.

As just stated, all of the mentioned schools provide excellent preparation for med school. I can add specifically for haverford and Wesleyan that these schools provide very active and one on one mentorship for their premed students.

Thank you for replying!
I can’t wait to hear back from these schools. My sister currently attends Haverford and she loves it. I will have a hard time picking among these schools if I get admitted to most of them Hopefully only a few of them admit me.
BTW are there special prep classes set aside from those recommended by my future advisor for MCAT? MCAT is scarring me a little and I want to be as prepared as possible.

something to keep in mind when picking one of these schools: often these smaller liberal arts school have med school communities.

what this means is that if you want to apply to med school is you need to get their approval before you can apply. this keeps the students with 2.X GPAs from applying and bringing down the acceptance rates (yes a few will get in, but most wont). dont let the published med school acceptance rates fool you- they weed you out before you even send in the applications.
