If a student majors in English, Communications, History or, International Studies, is it encouraging to have coding skills/web design skills or a minor in a technical field?

It certainly can help get a job after graduation…

It depends on what you career plans are, and also whether you have any real technological talent.

If your math and technological talents are weak, you probably will not be happy practicing those skills even if you take some courses or study them as a minor.

On the other hand, if these talents are reasonably good, then it could be a benefit careerwise. At a minimum, you would be able to communicate well with technological professionals.

The economy, worldwide, is becoming more and more technological. It certainly would be a benefit to have some understanding of technology, even if it is not you primary focus.
