I understand that several years ago, NYU made it possible for students to apply directly to the LS program.
If a student applies to another college (CAS for example), is there a place on the application to indicate that he would be willing to accept a spot in LS as a second choice rather than be rejected from NYU completely?
Also, it looks like the first year of the Core Program is completely filled with required courses. Is there any way to study a foreign language of choice during the first year of LS in addition to the requirements? (Just to clarify, I’m talking about LS at the NYU campus; not global liberal studies, and not at one of the international campuses.)
Yes. Both questions have been answered multiple times in this forum, but since you don’t seem to searched for any answers…
How your courselist would look:[ul]
[]First Semester: Cultural Foundations I, Social Foundations I, Writing I, and an elective of your choice.
[]Second Semester: CFII, SFII, Writing II, and an elective of your choice.
[]Third Semester: CFIII or SFIII and three electives of your choice.
[]Fourth Semester: CFIII or SFIII and three electives of your choice.
[/ul]
Every LS student also has to take a Natural Science I, Natural Science II, and Quantitative Reasoning course in order to fulfill the LS core. Each school has additional course requirements for transfer after completing LS. Most students use their electives in their first year to get the Natural Science requirements out of the way, but you could choose to take a foreign language course.
