I can log into the blackboard website, but it says I am not enrolled in any of the classes when I am clearly enrolled in Life Science 2. What's up with this?

Also, I was wondering whether it would be possible to use an older edition of the book for life science, namely, Life: The Science of Biology Edition 8. The textbook requirements for the class state that we should get edition 9, but I have found a much cheaper copy of edition 8. Who can I ask about this? Do any of you guys know?

I didn’t think I was putting off a desperate attitude, because that was not my intent at all. I was merely inquiring as to whether anyone had any idea whether it was allowed to use an older edition textbook. As for the blackboard, I’m just curious, because on the registrar website, it mentions that you should check it before going to the first class.

Blackboard doesn’t get updated with your list of classes for the following quarter until some time before classes begin. Just keep your eye out, it will be updated soon over the following week.

Don’t worry about it. Nothing major happens in the first week of LS2. And yes, there are very slight differences between 8th and 9th edition (chapter order and maybe a biotech chapter inclusion), so don’t bother buying the more expensive book. If you really feel it’s necessary, just read the ninth edition from the course reserves and then study from the 8th to make sure you didn’t miss anything.

I had really healthy study goals like yours a long time ago…damn, I though senioritis was supposed to be a thing of the past.

Lol clickers. You might need them for your other LS classes so you might as well get them now…
Your professors usually state whether you can buy an older edition of a textbook on the first day of class when he/she is going over the syllabus.
You don’t really need to check blackboard until the first week so don’t stress too much.
