Life science majors: how would you rate your major?

I'm trying to decide what major to choose and I was wondering if any life science majors could tell us about their experience in their respective major. I'm particularly interested in Psychobiology.

Thanks in advance.

What year are you? What classes have you taken so far? Jinobi is a psychobiology major. At least you can complete the life sciences core before having to decide...

Back from Thanksgiving break, and you already call me.

All life science majors include a rather grueling core lower-division sciences component. Therefore, all these majors will have Life Sciences, Physics, Calculus, and other courses that medical schools may require. Some majors will also have preparation courses relevant to your major; Psychobiology has Psych 10, Psych 100A, and Psych 100B as pre-major requirements. In all, you have to take all your pre-major requirements (core lower-division biology classes and pre-major classes) before you can get into your upper-division classes.

Your upper-division will define what your major is, IMHO. Majors like Biology and MIMG have intensive biological upper-division courses, while Psychobiology has mostly psychology courses (with some neuroscience, biology, etc.). Look up each major's requirements to see what courses you would have to take, and see what you like. I like Psychobiology because it's upper-division courses are easier compared to other pure biology/life science majors, and I DO enjoy learning more about topics in psychology.

See what you like.

i like phy sci. assload of information, but i enjoy learning it.

the major names are self explanatory. so if you like cell stuff (think LS3), MCDB. if you like genetics (LS4), MIMG. if you like physiology (sort of like the latter parts of LS2), Phy Sci. if you really like the nervous system, neruoscience. if you like evolutionary biology (LS1), EEB. if you like marine animals, marine bio. etc etc.
