Not getting one feels like getting rejected…

My son can access the directory and has the note about expecting an update soon, does this mean a likely letter is on the way??? Is it sure? We will be away next few weeks so will not get the mail. Help!

Do people understand that the bulk of admittees never receive a Likely Letter? It’s great if you can get one – but to pine away, hoping for one – is pretty useless.

Plus, the window for their issuance is Oct 1 to March 15.

I got a letter too. But then again I was expecting one with my 3.96 and 11 5’s on the AP tests. I was happy to receive mine but will unfortunately be turning it down because I also got one from Penn and accepted into Stanford SCEA.

Can anyone confirm that the “curious” line and being able to add yourself to the directory are sure signs of a likely letter? Thanks!

yea, can someone plz give the steps about the part where you can add yourself to the directory if you’re in?

awhizlikekhalifa: don’t twist your shoulder slapping yerself on the back so much. I’m glad my alma mater isn’t either of the two schools you listed. I imagine Dartmouth acceptees won’t be missing your nice disposition either.

rotsa ruck

Aniger, those are pretty much definitely signs of a likely letter. Everyone who has received one (myself included) has found those things and you shouldn’t be able to be in the directory without being accepted, so I guess this means congratulations are in order! I’m sure you’ll receive your official letter soon!

Well put T26E4! And to those of you who don’t have a 3.96 and 11 5’s on AP’s I am sure that any college that you decide to go to will be very lucky to have each and everyone of you!

Does being unable to log into the accepted student directory imply rejection? I didn’t receive a likely letter, and I’m naturally a bit worried. Are only the likely students able to log into the student directory, or can all of the admitted applicants, regardless of likely letter status, able to log into the directory? Or will they continue updating the directory until March 30th?

I would like to extend my wholehearted congratulations. You truly deserve it and I’m glad you won’t have to be among mere mortals at Dartmouth. Again, congratulations.

Most accepted students do not receive a likely letter. All accepted students will be able to log in, but they haven’t released that list yet.

Holy ****, call the newspapers! This never happens!

^seriously. what a charmer. making us lowly applicants feel good.

I got a likely today (3/17) dated 3/11. Funnily enough, I told my counselor today that I figured I would almost certainly be denied.

I received a likely letter today in the mail! I don’t know how, since I applied right before the deadline and I’m not an athlete, but I’m really excited!!!

did everyone who received a likely letter get an interview?

Le sigh! Seeing as how I’m on the East coast and I applied way back in October anyway, I guess this means no likely letter for me. Well, it’s to be expected, I guess…March 30th, get here already!

^^ Nope. Don’t take an interview (or the lack thereof) as a sign one way or another.

Did others with likelies get invited to a video chat coming Monday? Is it just for those who got likelies? If anyone attended before, was it useful?

I received a likely letter (super excited!) and I had an interview but I doubt there’s any correlation between the two.
