gpa: 10.1 on a scale where 11 is the highest and is an A, completely unweighted.

<p>SAT I: 1540, II's:800, 800, 800 (In Writing, Math IIC, and World History)...out of sheer paranoia, I retook the SAT in January (probably a foolish action, huh?), and my score went up (to 1590), but as the results were released on February 4th, I doubt that they arrived in time for the adcoms-considering that the letter was dated the 11th.</p>

<p>Extracurriculars: Not bad at all, but middle of the road for Ivy League. President of a club, captain of varsity team, 7 varsity letters, bassist, school band, anonymous editor of satirical newspaper, long-distance runner.</p>

<p>Essays: Not bad, but not perfect.</p>

<p>Reccomendations: Probably pretty good, but I didn't read any of them.</p>

<p>Intangibles: white, Christian-background male, both parents went to college, upper-middle class.</p>

<p>ECs: ASB Prez, ASB Sec/Treasurer, Green Team (school spirit club), Key Club Treasurer for three years, school and club Swimming and Polo (captains and other awards), Eagle Scout, Youth Group Leader, Good Times Snack Bar (my band), </p>

<p>Essay: Really good. Yale left personal comment on their likely about it.</p>

<p>Recs: Good enough to get Colgate to write a personal comment on an early letter.</p>

<p>School: Central Valley of California. Public. not many ivy applicants (most go for stanford, who normally ignores kids from our area). First gradutating class of a brand new high school. Founding member of a lot of clubs, activities, spirit group, etc. Took three math classes through Johns Hopkins to stay in sequence.</p>

<p>Other: Elected to state office at California Boys' State, LEAD Summer Business Institute @ Wharton (top undergrad business school in country), great interview, peer rec showed the real me (nothing fancy, just brought out things like my lunch pail, nalgene bottle, laugh, etc.)</p>

<p>Got mine a week and a half ago.</p>
