Likely Letters

Has anyone yet received an actual likely letter from Brown (not vague emails)? Post here if you do so I can know if I should start to check my mail. :)

@kameronsmith

You should be checking your emails daily(or every other day) in case there is a school that is missing info or needs an update on your academic status etc.

to answer your question: No, I haven’t seen anyone on CC mention receiving one with the exception of 1 post mentioning an athletic recruitment “likely” during national signing week.

Even if some people have, it won’t influence whether or not you receive one. The fact is the vast majority of eventual acceptances never receive one. Why should anyone spend an ounce of time or worry pining for one? What’s done is done. You’ll get in or you won’t. Go enjoy your last semester of HS regardless of what’s happening in Providence. You’ve worked hard. Enjoy yourself.

Don’t stress over the decisions. They’ll come regardless of your stalking your mailman or your email inbox.

Poor T26E4 . . . All I can picture is that final scene in Animal House where Kevin Bacon is standing in the middle of the riot screaming, “Remain calm, all is well!” Everyone around him is in full-on panic mode and he stands there ignored . . .

His advice is sound though.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to sound anxious—I’m not. (In fact, I already received an LL from Dartmouth.)

More, it’s just a practical matter—the post office is a decent walk from my school and it’s generally not worth going unless I know something is coming for me.

I do check my email constantly, but it’s my understanding that likely letters generally come via postal mail.

Brown likely letter (not an likely email) came 10 days ago to my S. He is not an athlete. The letter is very explicit, stating “… the members of the Board voted to confer on you a “likely” status.”

@kameronsmith

generally they do come snail mail, however, My D received a “likely” email from Columbia that was later followed a few days later by the same message and an info booklet via snail mail.

I also received a likely letter in the mail stating explicitly my “likely status” about two weeks ago.

Just got my likely letter today!!! So excited, I literally screamed. I was really confused why I received mail from Brown. I never would have dreamed of getting a likely letter anywhere, really. And then I opened it up, and it was nice and glossy and fabulous. AHHHH!

I received mine in the mail yesterday!

Congrats to all LL recipiants. Question, did you all receive the “life after Brown letter”?

Yes I just got the “life after” today

LL recepients- geographic location?

Congrats to all of you who got a letter! Sadly, our mailbox is only full of bills…:(

I might be dating myself by writing this but: with all the news and excitement over the past month I can’t help but go to the mailbox everyday and think, “No whammys, no whammys, no whammys,” just before I open it. This will get really crazy come mid-late March.

Hey, gotta make some kinda fun out of this stress :)

Haven’t gotten this so called “Life After Brown” letter. Located in Nevada.

Sent from my HTC Glacier using CC App

Lol. Now we can all have a good laugh, thanks to harvard5 and Just Smile. Congrats guys.

Got Likely Letter a week (?) ago. TN. Not athlete. Got LLs from Dartmouth and Columbia too.

What do you all think it means if someone has received only the “Life after Brown” email and not (yet???) anything else?

Thanks!

Probably they rejected you before committee. That would be my best guess.
