Has anyone received a likely letter yet this year?

This school year? Or 2014? If it’s this school year then yes, I have a couple friends who have gotten likely letters and have been admitted ED.

This school year!

According to the general RD thread, someone got a likely letter on Feb 12. Not a recruited athlete.

are these through the mail or email

i got one dated feb 11, but opened it yesterday (twas through the mail). i actually could use some clarification…i’m not a recruited athlete, and don’t fancy myself much more special than the undoubtedly qualified applicant pool at brown. does it mean i’m pretty much officially in unless i royally screw up this semester (which isn’t happening)? or is it just like a “ok well we’re really interested and stuff, but could still reject you if we wanted”? halp

@collegek11: you’re in unless you royally screw up.

@collegek11: What is your geographic location?

I got one! I’m an ORM… totally not expecting it. I was out when my parents got in in the mail… I just about screamed when they told me on the phone.

@Mbond0718 I’m from California.

Just got one earlier today from Michigan!

@MathisAmazing What date does the letter say?

@fulltimesleeper It says that I’ve been conferred “likely status” and that as long as I keep my same level of achievement, I could “assume I will be offered admission on the 27th”.

“Although our official offer of admissions will not be made to you until the end of March, you can assume your likely status means you will be admitted to Brown if you maintain your current record of achievement. You should know this communication, from our perspective, carries the same commitment, and is subject to the same conditions, as a letter of admission”

@MathisAmazing I meant as in the date it was sent out! Congrats btw! Thats a big achievement!

Haha, sorry, I read that wrong! It said Feb 28th on the letter

Are you a URM? STEM?

I know that I’m really late, but I received one as well! I found out through an email from the dean. Congrats to all of those who received one as well!

Lol futurepsych I’m posting even later, got lazy after getting the likely letter, mostly been celebrating for a while lol. I got my letter 2 weeks ago with the cool gate (the letter was sooooo awesome haha). I also got the follow up email a few days ago. Lol kind of surprised like op bc I was orm too, Asian boy, not low income, etc. Just wondering, for the interdisciplinary programs all you guys got, did they personalize it for you? Because I thought it was cool that the 3 programs they listed in the 4th paragraph of the letter basically mirrored the essays that I wrote. Lol random question, do Ivies communicate with each other about likely letters?

@fulltimesleeper I’m going STEM.

yall are stressing me out. chance me? i’ll chance you back for brown and your other schools http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1623922-prediction-game-all-who-play-will-be-chanced-back.html#latest
