If I get stuff regarding housing options, does that mean that it would be concidered an admit?

I really am beginning to regret making this thread in the first place. It's making everybody too loopy. I apologize to the people that are actually at NU right now and have to put up with reading this thread.

Let's put it this way: You are NOT an admit UNTIL you get an acceptance letter either by the Internet or through the United States Postal Service.

yeah. reese, u made me really nervous.

actually no, ethioman made me nervous.

oh geez, need to go meditate. ::takes deep breaths::

lol i'm kidding. kinda.
man i really wanna get into college =(... NU to be more specific XP

I'm sorry afaforce! I really didn't think (yeah, I didn't think) that this thread would go off on such a tangent. I knew that, eventually, if someone got one of those letters, it would be brought up on this board, but at the time, all I really wanted was a yes or no answer to whether or not they send them to some people (saw something about it on the old board). The next time I make a thread, I'm going to think about a month down the line to the after effects that it may have on other CCers.

By the way, I'm seconding the meditating idea. This thread is making me more nervous than I already was (saying I know I will not be getting any type of relief whatsoever for another month - and even then, that relief might not be was I was hoping for even though getting any decision would be slightly nice right now).

BTW, don't let ethiomann00 get to you too much (he just answered my original post). As glamourbaby already said, many people who do not get likely letters will still get into NU in the end.

haha yeah i figure they're not gonna send likely letters to.. everyone
oh well. i figure college isn't important or anything. =P

but yeah, sending it to URMs/athletes and such is more common practice anyhow

ANYWAY, just relax. enjoy your senior year. make the most of it!

Hey afaforce (or anybody else for that matter), do you think you could recruit someone to call NU and see when they're going to post the decisions online - if they even know yet themselves (for those of us who don't have the luxary of getting a likely letter)? I think I'm basically a no-no on this one. I've already contacted them too much during this admissions process, and if I do it anymore, I'm seriously going to start feeling guilty about it. I think that I know of someone that works in admissions over there who would answer that question if I asked it of him, but I really don't want to do it (and I'm really trying to hold back on that one).

sry if made anyone ****ed... i just was respondin to the OP thas all

oh yeah i live in seattle washington, and got the letter feb 10th, it was a handwritten letter from the head of african american recruitment telling me to cool out, enjoy senior year, that they were "very impressed" with my application and that I should expect to recieve a "positive response" come april.

I forgive you. BTW, thanks for answering the thread.

Likely Letter, cool...kind of the same thing Dartmouth does

i got the same thing as ethioman also from the head of african-american recruitment

readytoleavehs - what were your stats and when was your application complete?

u can probably find my stats somewhere on this site sorry i really don't feel like typing everything out again but my application was complete in january i guess, the thing just said that it was "very impressive" and everything..it was nice to get something back and the northwestern people have always been really nice even the representative who came to our school

so i guess it was a URM likely XP congrats anyway!

also, i'm not tight w/ any admissions people
and if I called they'd just tell me when i should be expecting it
also, they don't really know right now i don't think

Nobody's tight with the admissions people. I just wanted to know if someone else could find out when the decisions would be posted online, but as you've already said, they prolly don't know when yet themselves.

I hope the only reason why I didnt get one of these URM likely letters is because my application was completed February 2!!!!!!

me same. but on my Northwestern homepage it says that for me decision will be posted on mid- april. and i was like ............wut???? 15 more days????????// it gona drive me crazy.

On the applicant services page, it states that the decisions can be viewed online by late March (I just want the exact date - yes, I'm very impatient now). The mid-April date I think is their official deadline for letting us know (if they sent out the letters right on April 1st), but I think they've been making a habit of letting us know earlier than that over the past few years.

stanmaster22 - It might not mean anything if you don't get a letter from them since many people don't get them at all and still get accepted in the end. Try not to get to caught up about it.

Just call to find out when they will be posted. That's what someone for ED did.

uc_benz - I did crack and contact admissions (after receiving another e-mail from Michigan - The people over there are really making me tense, and I now think the reason for that is that I keep thinking that they're going to go off and do something vital for next year without me before I'm able to make a final decision, or, in other words, before I hear from NU. I know that this won't happen, but it's still a scarey thought saying I might not even be given the light of day at Northwestern). I found out that the final decisions will probably be given out during the last week of March, but if not, they will be out by April 15th. What's scarey about that information is that that doesn't seem very far away anymore.
