This is the second year (Sophomore) to participate in the after school debate club.
So far did not qualify for varsity or for metro finals.

student has no debate coach or any help.
has been scoring 1-3 or 2 -2 in the debate competitions.
the feedback from the competitions is not very helpful as there are just one line comments or just blank comments section.

Can you please give some advise as to how the student can improve debate scores?

Make sure you prep out enough and make good use of evidence. In LD, you have to understand all types of philosophical arguments. Try making esoteric/ slightly abusive arguments and frameworks. Make you have your judge’s paradigms and try to cater to your judge before each rounf.
