Hi all,
Just wanted you to know if you received the offer to get the linen package from New Jersey....DON"T!!!

We actually fell for the offer and purchased it for our D her freshman year. Since we had to fly to Philadelphia we figured it would be easier to pick the linens and towels up at school....

Well we had to walk to a distant pickup site, carry a huge box to her dorm and when we opened it all up the quality was so poor that she had to replace everything the next year. The sheets are not something you would want to sleep on and the towels are thin and small! The only thing she has kept for two years is the egg crate for her mattress.

With our S, we (I should say, he and his girlfriend...see other post!) are just going to LinensNThings to pick up most of the stuff.

Just wanted to give you a heads up :)

Thanks for the heads up. We received something in the mail yesterday from a linen service, but I didn't even see Hendrix on the list, so I tossed the letter. We bought a couple of new sheet sets for DD last year when she attended Governor's School for a summer program, so she'll take those (if they fit) and maybe one other set. I feel that three sets will be more than enough, and I can only hope that she'll change her sheets at school as much as we do at home. I guess we should wait and see what dorm she gets before purchasing more sheets. Do you know if the beds are all the same size or if they are different in the different dorms?

Graduation is nearly upon us ... May 27th. DD has only five days of school left and we are preparing for a small family/close friends party at the house afterwards and putting the finishing touch on our summer vacation plans. I'll be glad when my school is out for the summer and I know you will be too, Texasmom. I'm at a balanced calendar school, so we don't get out till the second week in June, but I love those three week breaks in the fall, winter and spring. It makes up for the 5 1/2 week summer. Have you made your hotel reservations yet for Family Weekend? If so, let me know where y'all are staying. We'd love to meet up with you again!

SplashMom and Texasmom, do you both teach? Me, too! My last day is May 30 but my D's school goes through June 5.

Happy Graduation to your D and S! :)

ArkansasMom,
Yes, I do indeed teach in the wonderful world of kindergarten!!! My school ends on the 26th, S graduates on the 27th, and family comes into in town that Thursday night! I have D acting as chief shuttle service to and from the airport! All this and packing up my room should prove to be an interesting weekend~:o
Happy Graduation to your D as well!

Wow, Texasmom, you are going to be in a swirl of activity!
(BTW, thanks for the congrats but it's a year away. My D is a junior. :) )

I am a school nurse for the pre-school through fourth grade at one of our local elementary schools. Quite honestly, I don't know how you teachers do it. Between the different kids and their behavior, in addition to demanding parents, I would probably pull my hair out! Kudos to you both!

Although we don't get out of school until the second week in June, I am taking off Friday, May 26th to prepare for graduation on the 27th. We've got several out-of-state family members coming in on Friday afternoon, so we'll have a big cookout here at the house. DD's last day is next Friday (she doesn't have to go the next week ... exempt from exams - YAY!) Little does she know yet that I have all kinds of plans for her to prepare for out of town company. ;)

Best of luck to all the graduates of 2006!
