Linfield Tour

I just wanted to say that from this mother's point of view it couldn't have been a better tour. DDs liked it too. Great facilities, friendly people, wonderful school in a cool little town.

historymom, we liked our tour, too! We felt that the school had a very nice, friendly atmosphere. D applied and got a lot of personal attention from the admissions staff who were very quick to respond to her questions. D ended up choosing another college, but she had a hard time telling Linfield "Thank you, but I'm not coming". One my D's good friends will be attending Linfield next year. BTW, the college has very generous merit aid!

It is a grest place and they have continued to be solicitous of both my DDs which is nice. Another thing about Linfield was that it seemed like they went out of their way to provide students w/ low cost and no cost on and off campus activities. We have toured many nice schools but as a mom this is in my top 5.

Are the new dorms done? They were under construction when we visited - looked really nice.
Linfield was the friendliest place my D visited. My only quibble was that the library was 'way off by itself - this problem is being solved by the new buildings being constructed along that road.

Dragonmom I don't know about the new dorms sorry. We were there in April and I don't remember anyone mentioning it. The library did seem off at a distance but not so much by comparison to a couple of other larger schools we visited. I guess it is's all relative. ;)

Hoping that there will be other posts about Linfield before next summer, when I get daughter up to see it. I had never heard of the place before, and am intrigued by the info that has been shared at CC.

DD was accepted today :) They sent a fat envelope with a helpful set of handouts for newly accepted students.

congrats historymom. Was Linfield her first choice? My son just sent in his app there today

Thanks Theorymom: She doesn't really have a number one at this point. There is something she likes about each of the schools on her list. Personally, I love Linfield, perhaps more than she does. We saw it in the middle of a four campus tour and though she remembers wanting to apply I don't think she remembers clearly why but she is doing an overnight in February and hopefully it will help her make up her mind one way or another.

Best of luck to your Son. It is a wonderful school.
