You might be able to find it on their website? I am not really sure.

You could always take more language classes…

You might be able to find it on their website? I am not really sure.

You could always take more language classes…

Yeah that’s the plan, I have two more classes here in CC for the language. That’s it. I can finish those in Fall and then Spring. And some Linguistics classes here and there.

Oh I sorta found it.

What does it say??

@limnieng: oops, my mistake :p

That UCI is going to kill me. Lulz. I read their criterion for admission and they are SAYING that a pretty mean personal statement may also help someone get admitted. UCSD too. But do I believe it… errrr, not really. I believe it’s more of both. I’ll just aim to raise my GPA and I’m thinking of not even TAG-ing anywhere.

One would think that UCI is easier than Berkeley or UCLA… maybe neck and neck with UCSD??

Lulz. I checked my UCTAG thing. I’m currently at 3.0 GPA, not really since the grades are not out yet but they were easy, and I tried to put in the planned prereqs and see what GPA I would have if I Aced them… I can only go up to 3.2 by then end of Fall… fantastic.

If UCI doesn’t change their GPA req… ehhh. I would really TAG there. I would major in Korean or East Asian Language and just minor in Linguistics. But I feel like they will up it… yaknow?

I think you’ll be fine. I don’t think Linguistics is an impacted major at most UC’s…

I calculated my GPA on the UC TAG website, assuming I get an academic renewal… I can get up to 3.5 GPA with my current grades (cumulative from all colleges is a 3.1, SMC GPA is 3.6)…

I hope so… I wish Linguistics is easier to get in and more…lenient in the admission.

I go to PCC and GCC and I always calculated them together. Even though the schools don’t know yet officially. And hey 3.5 is higher than 3.2. You’re like… halfway to that 4.0.

What is GCC? I almost went to PCC. I wish I did! They offer so much more than SMC…

Oh, Glendale! Oops.

It was so hard to get in a Science or Math class though. Everyone was competing for those classes. I got so held back by Chemistry1A/101 that I wasted so much time on Biology major. That’s why I changed it.

And more schools should offer other languages besides Japanese and Chinese.

Hmm, SMC offers Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. And I think for Linguistics at most UC’s, the requirement is Indo-European and non-Indo European languages.

Well. I want to get a degree in linguistics but also learn a language. See. I want to teach English in Asia.

What language do you want to learn?

At the moment, Korean. Then eventually Japanese.

I took three semesters of Japanese. It was a lot of fun. If you get a chance, try to study abroad for a year or so. Maybe longer for Asian languages.

I would like to study abroad but they don’t offer those at the CC’s. I would go if I get in to a UC but I have to take into account financials also. I mean, I do believe that immersing yourself in the culture would really benefit but economy is… yaknow?

Well, you can always apply for scholarships, grants, and financial aid. :-)

I know. I would like to go and study over there.

Dang, I’ve been putting a lot of thought into applying that I keep worrying myself. It’s like full panic when I think about it.
