On the GWU Supplement, it says, "Please list any other colleges and universities to which you are applying. (Your answer will not influence our admission decision.)"

I doubt it has no influence unless GW is the most competitive school on your list... I'm applying to UPenn, and I don't know if it's the best idea to list it since GW is one of my match/safety schools.

To those who applied using the Common App./GW Supplement, what did you do for this portion?

i was just about to ask this same question. i'm applying to three really big reaches- georgetown, tufts, and penn, and honestly i'd be very surprised if i got in to any of them. i can't imagine listing them would help me..

hah is it bad if i list all the schools i'm applying to except for them?

hah is it bad if i list all the schools i'm applying to except for them?

uhh, thats what their asking to do, I listed it honestly, GWU was like my match i listed all other schools I was really applying to and got into GWU

oh, i have a question. i was deffered to a school, do i have to put it down (because now i have zero interest in going there even though they reconsider all the deffered people for regular decision)?

i applied to 9 schools, gw's on top of my list.

I would say just list the schools you are applying to. I do not think this would influence their decision that much but I am not sure. GW was a safety school for me that I ended up really liking so I would say just list them. I honestly doubt that it has any significant impact.

For future applicants, I know someone on the Media Relations team and she told me not to put down American or Georgetown. They are competitive with them, and I guess they think that if you put down them then you can just go there. It doesn't make sense though. Why put something there that just causesy you to have a disadvantage? Either way I put down all my schools that I'm applying to which did not include Georgetown or American cause I don't want to go there.

"I was applying to 4 reaches and I mentioned 3 of them on Common App."

You applied ED though.

GWU has been known to suffer from the dreaded Tuft's Syndrome. As a safety precaution, I would have included all those that are listed on you CSS Profile, since the financial aid office will be privy to that information.

I listed all the schools that were like them. It could possibly help you get better Fin Aid if they know you're applying to other schools you could very well get into.
It's prob just for information to know what kind of school GW is being considered as (safety, match, reach, etc)

I remember 2 years ago when I applied I just left this section blank. Why take any unnecessary risks? They don't have a right to know which schools you are applying to.

The admissions counselors said that it is mainly for their curiousity and research. But, I'm still thinking that Georgetown and American they don't like because the person I talked to in the Media department would not have just said that coming from nowhere.

oops....I listed georgetown...but oh well, doesn't that just show that i'm really interested in the washington dc area? i know i'm not gonna get into georgetown and GW is a good match for me.
