Literature SAT Subject Test

Hi,
I’m thinking about taking the SAT Lit test next year and I want to know if I’m cut out for it, as I don’t know how hard it is and things like that. What should I use/do to prepare for it? Also, next year I’ll be taking AP Lang. Will that help me on the test?

Thanks

My friend who took Lit said that you’re either good at it or you’re not :stuck_out_tongue: Can’t say much without more info about you, but you can consider trying some practice questions on the College Board site! Also, buy the CB book for SAT IIs.

I’ve heard that AP Lang is very different from Lit. Again, searching up some practice questions may help.

The SAT II Lit is similar to the SAT I CR (but much harder), and somewhat similar to the multiple choice section on the AP english lit. Don’t take this to mean that being good at one guarantees a high score in the others, but prep for the three is similar.

The test definitely has the reputation for being one of the harder subject tests. I found it to be challenging. I’ve never taken AP Lang but I have heard from people who have taken AP Lang or AP Lit that it helped them a lot. You should definitely try out a practice test from either the Barrons book or the Kaplan book and see how you do.
