You know how a requirement for applying to UCs is that you have to have some kind of visual art thingy? What if you don't have an art class? Could they accept you if you promise to take an art class during your first semester. A friend told me this was possible and i just want to make sure.

You have to have all the requirements completed by the end of your senior year. If your school doesn't have an art or performing arts class on your school's a-g list, you can meet the requirement by taking a semester at a junior college (just make sure it's UC transferable).

Check the UC Davis forum as their Ad Officer has addressed this question there. You definitely need to fulfill the requirement. You will be competing for admission with thousands of students who managed to get it done while in high school. Take a class at the local CC first semester and get it over with. It will also be weighted by UC admissions, I think.

How about taking it in the summer after senior year? Would that work? My schedule is full but if i reallllly need it i will find a way..

Dunno about that. I don't think so, because you have to submit all your transcripts by July 15th (to Berkeley) and I don't see how you could do it and meet that requirement. I had a full load in HS and was lucky to get a very long Sat. class at CC that fulfilled the requirement. Definitely cut down on my chill time, but it was a fun class, hard work, but I did well. I didn't have a part time job or anything, otherwise it would have be tough. . . .
