Livescribe pen and ipad

I recently cam across the livescribe echo pen. I know it makes life easier for students. Has anyone tried it and what are your opinions. Also is an iPad worth it for me. Is it suggested to get an iPad to supplement my laptop. Thanks.

I personally would use a Toshiba Thrive instead, they’re cheaper and still do the job. A tablet’s no good if you can’t find any good software for it. I dunno about iPads, but Android has LectureNotes and ezPDF Reader, both of which are VERY good for note-taking and PDF annotating.

I don’t know anything about the pen but a lot of my friends who have iPads and laptops say that they could live with just one. You can get removable keyboards for the iPad and download Microsoft word and everything you would have on a laptop. I honestly think if you already have a laptop you don’t need an iPad but you could always trade up for one.

If you’re in math or science, though, then you’ll need to use something resembling a pencil for math problems.
