I am currently living with my parents, and my FAFSA represents that.
I have been thinking about moving out on my own, at a condo in Atlanta, and wanted to know if my financial aid would increase if I change my status on my FAFSA from Living at Home to Living Off Campus…
I heard that it depends on the school, so I am hoping somebody from GSU has had a similar situation and knows the answer…
Thanks in advance.
You can probably find info on the “cost of attendance” based on living at home, on campus or off campus on gsu’s financial website. There is a max on the Pell grant each year ($5,775 for 2015-16 school year) and there is a max on federal student loans that students themselves can sign for ($5,500 fresh and soph year, $6,500 jr year and $7,500 sr year). Therefore, if you already receive the max Pell grant you are qualified for and max federal student loans, you will not receive any more of either based on where you live.
