Living on Livingston

What are people's impressions of the residence halls/dining hall/rec facility compared to the other campuses? I'm probably going to be living here and have heard it "sucks" compared to Busch. Is the new dining hall openly in the fall (I think) supposed to be more impressive than the last?

The other question I had was specifically about the rec/fitness center. I noticed it hasn't been open for the last month or so. Is it only open certain times of the year?

I lived there my freshman year, the dining hall blew. The new one looks nice though, it’ll probably be awesome but no one knows for sure. The library (Kilmer) is very nice, close to everything and never very crowded (minus finals weeks). The rec center is open mon-thurs till 11ish. Fridays it closes earlier and on the weekends I think its 5 but I never went lol. The dorms are okay, in of themselves they’re bigger which is nice but the quads are socially isolating. You don’t have that floor feel so, if you can, try and get into towers (unless you’re naturally very social, then it doesn’t matter)

There will be the same staff working in the new dining hall…but the place looks awesome now and that might affect your appetite? Perhaps with better equipment the food will be better.

You can socialize in the main lounge and maybe in the coffeehouse in quad 3. Other than that, you might have to make an effort to know your neighbors.

Should I request Busch as my #1 instead?

Thing I don’t get is, if you can edit your housing application before the assignments are released in August, how is it on a first-come, first-serve basis? When do they actually make the assignments? Is it based on the date you submitted your app? I applied about two weeks ago…any chance at Busch?

I think by the end of april it’s too late to get busch. And I’m not sure about the editing the apps…back then they didn’t have this option. I think they do housing all at once in late summer anyway.
