I am a high school senior but I just recently got interested in majoring in film. I visited LMU and absolutely loved it. It is my top choice right now. My stats are well above their averages but I’m totally lacking in the portfolio section. My GPA is a 3.9 UW and a 4.4 W and my superscored SAT is a 2280 with a perfect score on the reading section. I’m part of a selective Spanish program at my school and my ECs are strong, including national awards for piano (what I spend the majority of my time on). I have some pictures I can submit as photography samples but that’s about it. And I’m worried that isn’t going to be enough. If anyone has gotten into the school without a portfolio or knows how important the portfolio is to the admissions decision I would love to hear some feedback!
I would not recommend putting down upwards of 55 grand because you just kinda ‘interested’ in film recently. If you lack a portfolio and your essays don’t excuberate your love of film, I’m sure what their decision would be. Think about majoring in something else
