I applied to LMU, but I’m worried my scores don’t match their standards. I have a 3.4 GPA and 24 ACT. I’m also worried that my essays were unordinary/unusual for the colleges. Is there anyone who’s applied in the past or is waiting for a response that is or was in the same boat as me?
I just got accepted last night and my gpa is about 3.00 and I didn’t really think my essays were exceptional either. Just remember that there’s a lot more to your application than just those things!
@Lalo I got a 24. Out school requires us to have 40 hours of community service, but the most significant work I’ve done is planting trees in a developing neighborhood in Detroit. I’ve also done tech theater for 2 of the plays in my school. I’ve also done sailing, snowboarding. Idk if that helps though. I’m not from a catholic school.
Thanks for responding back. I meant to send the score question to someone else … the person who got in with a 3.0 … didn’t mean to repeat myself with you.
@DrPoopyhead69 My top choices are in state private… LMU and Cal Lutheran. Fingers crossed and praying!
Also waiting on decisions from USF, USD, CU Boulder and USC…which I feel is out of reach at this level since I wasn’t accepted at Pepperdine.
@Woodst0ck USC is my first choice, but its very out of reach considering the competitiveness and people they accept. Im hoping on LMU, but I was looking back at some of the previous RD boards from other years and it seemed like people who waited this long were waitlisted or denied. Idk if it will be the same this year, but Im hoping its not.
