sadly yes, I think it would be a sign of rejection.
Did you get a reply after you sent an email?
Has anyone heard back at this point?
Crickets
This is just not fair. Not sure how every film program in the country has come with their decisions on transfers except LMU. Which is one of my top choices.
Yeah, this is too harsh. Fyi my major is math which I don’t think too competitive as much as a film major, and I still haven’t heard of anything. Wonder whether or not the admission office is even working on their jobs.
I have emailed them twice so far, and they gave me the same vague answers that they are still considering my application. Hope they will send out all the decisions soon.
Honestly it’s unacceptable. Just put us out of our misery if it’s a “no”
I wish you guys the best of luck. I know some students are saying they haven’t released decisions yet for other film programs in LA. Its tragic but im sure if you want it enough, you’ll hold strong!
Anyone hear back with a rejection yet?
No yet. I’m already panning in going to a different university
Where have you decided to go?
For me it’s Chapman Dodge Film School
Finally, my decision came out this morning and I got deferred.
sorry to hear that, outrageous how it took them so long. Wishing you the best in wherever you may be going.
Are you still waiting? SFTV still almost no one has heard a thing.
ya im still waiting, applied for film prod. I would love to hear back but I have already committed to another school so hopefully SFTV applicants hear back soon I cant take anymore waiting.
Yeah me too going to Chapman what about you?
Oh nice congratulations! Excellent school my best friend goes there and loves it. I’m gonna be going to Emerson, didn’t get too much money from them and I don’t expect the same from LMU haha but thats why Im still holding on for hope.
Was so close to going to Emerson too…great spot good luck with all to you. Just wanted to be in CA and Chapman was a better fit for me. LMU is the one I’ve been waiting on but it’s out of hand at this point why it would take so long. Anyway, have a great time at Emerson or LMU!
I hope you the best on hearing back, and it sucks that COVID is affecting how fast they can get back to students, as they had to/are taking the time to see how many students they should have in each classroom. LA is still behind in returning to normalcy.
If you are comfortable, I was wondering what makes you ideally prefer LMU over chapman and why students seem a little sad to have to resort to chapman over LMU. Ironically, I went to LMU after being declined by Chapman, which was my top choice at the time.
Thanks for your kind words-
I would choose LMU over Chapman because of the new build-up of their film program and proximity to Los Angeles(being in the city vs Orange County). That being said I’m very happy about Chapman! It’s beautiful and an incredible program and feel blessed about getting in. The frustrating thing about LMU is the fact they said notification in early April and now it’s the middle of June. It’s just unfair to make students wait this long. Is what it is:)
