Son was accepted EA to LMU EE/CSE, the only acceptance so far. We have visited and liked the campus.

Anybody here doing engineering at LMU? Would love to hear. Heard it is a small dept. Any info is welcome, thanks.

Congrats to him!

My son is in the engineering program. Its a tough program but all the students get a lot of personal attention and are encouraged to succeed. LMU also has one of only two nationwide study abroad programs that is tailored specifically for the engineering student. My son spent a semester in Germany with other LMU engineering students and had a wonderful cultural experience while taking the same exact engineering and core classes he would be taking had he been on campus. I highly recommend it.

Congrats to your son! Dean Plumb is amazing and has great plans for LMU’s Science and Engineering Department. My son is a biochemistry major who finds the work both challenging and rewarding. He loves the small classes, opportunities for research, and close contact with his professors. Science and Engineering’s new facility opens Fall 2015 which your son will have the benefit of for one year. Trust me you won’t be disappointed. Make sure and attend Admit Day!

Hey, you two! My son is there too!

Thanks, that’s nice to know! Wish this forum was a bit more active :)

Is it true that incoming engineering freshman class is only about 25? Well as long as there is enough to do and learn it should be ok. Really excited about all that LMU has to offer.

It seems recently son said 75 started this year, but there are 66 left.I thought it was less.

Have you seen this?

Thank you Shrinkrap for the links. My concern would be that the incoming engineering class in total is less than 50 kids! Wish my son could do an overnight, but we live in Asia and the march break is the only break he has before school finishes.

Well for what it’s worth, if I am reading this right, (46 vs 196) compared to Mudd, fewer start, but more finish (100 vs 65)!

I’m sure something is lost in the translation.
